MEER Expands Reach in India: The MEER team recently conducted a significant site visit to Site B in India in ongoing efforts to refine application methods for our reflective sheeting. Site B in Pune is a residential cluster of eight houses with roof conditions ranging from semi-rusted to relatively stable.

Groundbreaking Partnership for Water Management Research On June 19, 2024, a momentous event occurred at the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST) in Makeni. Dr Ye Tao and the MEER Freetown team visited the university to officially sign a hectare-scale collaborative research project between MEER and EBKUST.

The Freetown Innovation Week (FIW) 2024, a one-of-a-kind event held from May 13th to 16th, was a remarkable convergence of Sierra Leone's brightest minds and innovative entrepreneurs. Organized by Innovation SL (Inno SL), an entrepreneur support organization and an innovation and technology management company, this year's event was a unique hub of creativity, collaboration, and groundbreaking ideas.

The MEER team in India has set up an experiment on the rooftop of their office building in Hanuman Nagar, Pune. The experiment aims to check the calibration of the sensors in extreme conditions of solar radiation, humidity, and wind flow.

Promising Results in Tanzania Our project in Tanzania has been yielding great results so far. The latest analysis shows that the inside roof cavity is up to 12°C cooler with the MEER adaptation sheeting installed.

India Sensor Deployment The MEER team based in India has been working diligently over the past week to conduct a survey of the project site and install the first set of sensors.

The communications team provided atraining session for some of the local women in Crab Town, where our communityproject is taking place. The training session aims to equip the participantswith the necessary skills to conduct an in-person survey in Crab Town.

The Freetown Heat Action Plan has set out several objectives to make Freetown residents aware of the risks of heat, establish high-resolution heat monitoring and personalized warning systems, and increase the ability of vulnerable groups to respond to extreme heat. By 2030, the plan aims to have 80% of Freetown's population fully aware of the risks of heat and effective responses.
