Marine and Environmental Education and Research, Inc.

MEER, inc., is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation that provides educational and scientific information and resources about the marine environment and general environmental topics through various electronic media, including the internet. This site is intended to be used as a resource for science courses, distance learning, home schooling, independent study courses, and for use by the general public. Access to this site is free for anyone to use.

We believe that education and accurate information about the earth, and its natural environment and resources, are the best means for providing the public with the tools to make wise decisions concerning environmental affairs and public policy. We encourage everyone to support the advocacy organizations and political parties and interest groups that best represent their own interests and policy positions.

MEER is supported primarily by grants from various sources and by donations from the general public, as well as the sale of other media (primarily CD-ROMS). This web site also depends on the donations of materials, especially graphic images and technical information from various individuals working in the fields of marine sciences or environmental biology.
